Early AE straight grip with C grade wood

Post by ASavageFox »

Here is a few pics and a copy of the factory card for an Early AE grade. The Silvers recoil pad has been changed out but that will be easy to remedy and I do not believe the wood was cut.

Worth noting is that this gun is incredibly light at 6lbs 8 ounces. The tubes are not marked but are light 4 weights at 3lbs 1 3/8 ounces and are bored very tight at .724 and .722 (also surprising that they are not bored the same, maybe the right barrel was very lightly honed??) Chokes measured at .006/.032
Cheers!

Nice find!! Not sure about the bores, if the .724 is consistent from end to end I do not believe it was honed. I would not worry about it on a gun that nice.
