I use an old tube of Borg-Warner distributor cam lube CL-70.Because it was in the tool box and I don't have anything else to use it on anymore. Seriously, I'd think any light grease would work just fine.

I got a little jar of Remington High Pressure Hinge Grease with my Model 3200 tube set in April 1977. It is down about halfway, so will likely last the rest of my life.

Tiny dab of petroleum jelly (Vaseline) spread over the hinge pin with an ear cleaner stick.

I clean the hinge pin and hook with cloth and an ear cleaner stick first of course.

I do this every time I take a gun out as I live in a dusty climate.

Forgive "ear cleaner stick" as at this moment I can't remember the right name for them.

Best,

Mike

Q tips I think?

BTW If you are in a tight spot with out a good lube you can try Eros Bodyglide.
Actually any of the high temp bear grease will work well. Do make sure you remove and re apply after every us of the gun or dirt can build in the grease and do more harm than good.
