Vintage Cup "Roll" Call......

Post by TOOL MAN »

Well Fox-fans, it's V-minus 10 and counting!!! Our biggest show/outing of 2009 is close at hand and I, along with the rest of the BOD's, wanted to give a quick update on what you can expect to see in "The Fox Den", at this year's Vintage Cup booth.

Although we could never match the creativity of Don Stuff's superlative, "Fox Gets the Game" vignette, nevertheless, this year's display will feature some fresh new signage, a very neat Fox paper/memorabilia exhibit and an array of Philly guns, that quite frankly, would make an ice cube, sweat!!!!

We plan to show 4 racks of guns, including our 2009 theme rack of Upgrades/Specials. We currently have 3 out of 4 slots filled----coincidentally all C-grades. So far, that lineup includes a CE w/XE wood, a C w/DE wood and a CE/HE SuperFox. Hooooo-Rahhhhh!!! We still need one more....so if you have a documented Upgrade or Special you would like to display, please reply to this or PM me, with the info.
As we did in 2008, we will once again reserve a rack for member's guns. So whether you will be attending the entire weekend or just a day or two, if you have a neat old Fox you would like to show off, please contact me.

We hope to see a record turnout of AHFCA members throughout the weekend and please don't forget the crown jewel of shooting contests....(the most coveted trophy, South of the Bo-Whoop Shoot)..... the 2009 AH Fox Championship. Our "Silvers" has put his heart and soul into this one and though only in its second year, it is fast becoming a signature event at The Vintage Cup. Whether you are a veteran shooter or just an occasional "duffer" , please show your support of the AHFCA by partaking in this exciting, fun-filled, high spirited match.
Safe travels and we look forward to seeing you all at Pintail Point.

I'll be there because it's almost walking distance from my house. I have scored a table over at the Parker tent so I'll be in visitor status at the Fox booth. I may take a day off to run down to Louisville if Tom will be hawking the big gun. Bill Murphy, Life Member.

Not to worry, "Murph"...there's always room for you.... despite your steadfast allegiance to the "Matrons of Meriden"....LOL. Wish we could all be so lucky on the commuting aspect. Hopefully you can unwrap a few of those pigeon guns we hear so much about? Let's try to burn some powder. Will introduce you to one of C.D PLANK's
pea shooters. Lock 'n Load---TOOL

I plan to arrive late afternoon on Wednesday. It is a great four days of gun talk and it is amazing the Fox stuff that walks in. The booth is non-stop talk and action, great time. What is amazing is all the unique Fox guns that have shown up at the Vintagers since the establishment of the AHFCA. We had an informal get together in 2006 at a food table at Sandanona. Paul Plunkett, Dave Noreen, and I had one small table at the Vintagers in 2007. 2008 was our coming out thanks to Don Stuff and his fantastic display. This year it is truly a rendezvous of old friends made in previous years. Craig

I'll be there a bit on Saturday to shoot the 16ga event and try for the Fox trophy with Big Ann, and again on Sunday for the main event. But I'll be on a short leash; traveling with the wife and visiting family on the western shore. Just so's you'll all forgive me if I don't have time for more than a howdy.

Tom, if the big gun is not on your table with a price tag, I won't be coming to L-Ville. Have you named her yet?

Bill,
I went to grade school in Edgewood....a stone's throw from the arsenal. Moved to NY when I was 13 and it was years before I quit listening for the big boomers in the distance. I'm the oldest and after I married and moved out, the family moved back to MD. I have 5 siblings living around Aberdeen/Churchville/Havre de Grace.

I'll be there to shoot the American Classic and the 16 gauge hammerless event. I can't do the Main Event on Sunday. Of course I'll be using a Fox for the AC, not sure which one right now. Last year Blondi travelled with me; this year it might be Matilda. Whichever she is, she'll be looking forward to meeting Mike's Anna and other gals. 16 gauge will be shot with a no name Parker. Mike, Edgewood is another part of the world, more akin to the Eastern Shore than the rest of this sorry liberal state. I actually volunteered to spend a few months in Edgewood during the Viet Nam era. I was attracted to a close to home post plus two days on, five days off scheduling. I guess you remember what they did to those guys, so I wisely changed my mind and did the "right thing". See you at Pintail Point.
