Good Evening Newbie,
The NON walnut stock and forend are ORIGINAL, so are the 26" bbls. Congratulations on a great find and good luck in its purchase.

I think the majority of guys here would really like to see a picture of this gun if you don't mind posting it...
Cheers!
Re: NEWBIE AH FOX QUESTION
OK,
Here are some pics as requested. Any feedback appreciated. I attached the final two pictures to show that it is matching.
Note, I am not a good photographer. I hope these work.

Re: NEWBIE AH FOX QUESTION
I'm no expert but I would have said that was walnut...
looks like a 20 X(e)... barrels look way longer than 26"
Any butt plate? Skeleton?
If its original, I would says its very rare. one of 152 for sure.

Butt plate is finely checkered wood with no metal.ASavageFox wrote:I'm no expert but I would have said that was walnut...

Re: NEWBIE AH FOX QUESTION
It is a very nice gun. My guess is the barrels have been re-blued since the barrel flats are not finished with fancy file marks. The stock appears refinished due to the lack of any handling marks but it is very hard to tell from pictures. I am looking forward to getting my fingerprints on it at the Vintgers. You are a very lucky man, outstanding Fox.

All good points above hence my initial questioning on the configuration and condition.fox-admin wrote:It is a very nice gun. Re: NEWBIE AH FOX QUESTION
Congrats KC on your nice Fox! I agree with Craig's assessment on the likely barrel reblue, also that the stock may be redone. I see the fences are not filed but I understand that isn't that uncommon with XE's.
A couple of oddities, to me at least. The milling marks on the watertable are unusual, first one I've seen like that. Also, the patent dates are done with different fonts and sizes; usually they are pretty uniform.
Mr. Cordell, can you please post a pic of the bottom of the wrist area so we can see what the triggerguard tang looks like? Silvers
