original Fox skeleton buttplate photos?
Hello, I am in the process of working on a semi-custom fox, not a restoration but more of a restock with a few additional features generally following the style of an original fox but borrowing elements from various other grades, etc. The gun itself is a 1920's 16ga AE which has had a skeleton buttp...

Sterlingworth with pointed checkering?
Hello, There's a thread on the doublegunshop forum regarding lengthening chambers right now--in it, there are photos of a sterlingworth with supposedly original factory checkering that was pointed up. I have never seen a sterlingworth with pointed checkering. Is this plausible? I suppose you can get...

Re: Answering involved technical questions in open forums
I don't know if it's helpful or not, but perhaps I can offer a bit of a different perspective. I am not a fox collector or a collector of any sort. Re: are choke tubes enough for steel shot
I recently had Briley install thinwall tubes in a gun and I asked them specifically about this. I believe the day is coming when we will be required to use nontoxic shot for even targets, so I wanted to make sure the gun would not be damaged by high-volume target shooting with steel shot, since any ...

Re: ejector foreend inletting ?
Thank you very much, I appreciate the reply. Problem for me is I don't trust the old cuts in the foreend to be "correct" since it is an obvious replacement and appears to not be very well done. I'll keep poking around for info, if anyone else has any at any point I'm sure it would help me ...

ejector foreend inletting ?
Hi, First post here. I am stocking a 16ga AE for a friend--the original stock was cut quite short and had the pistol grip sawed off to make a straight stock, and the foreend is a replacement. The inletting in the FE is particularly rough, and it appears what is normally a thin section of wood is alm...
