Re: late 16 gauge S/W factory BT forearm

the BT forearm on my SPE S&UGG does not have the "bead." Was that just on S/Ws?

Re: AH Fox Early A ? Patent Date Aug 1904 Ser#103

28 1/2" would make me think that your barrels were once 30"s and have been lightly trimmed... some additional pictures would be really great. Close up of the frame sides and the ends of the barrels would be great to see. I assume this is an extractor gun as no ejector guns have ever been s...

Re: Who will write the next great Fox book?

not much to add other than to say that the MO Conservationist is probably one of the best state run magazines on the outdoors in the US... it is completely free to anyone in the State and I believe that you just pay shipping outside of MO... the nearly 30 years that I lived there I really, really en...

Re: Fox Colectors Association Southwest Asia Chapter

Wishing you a safe and quick trip... I know the pain... did a stack of tours through the places no one hopes to ever visit in their life...pretty sure I was the only member of the North African AHFGCA for 7 months... the good news is that when you do have free time, there is little else to do but re...

Re: Was there ever a 28 gauge Fox?

several years ago, I talked to a guy who I think was in KS that had several sets of barrels in the white that could have been bored out for 28 gauge... they had come from Mitzie and Roe who sold off a big stack of whatever Savage had left over from Fox sometime in the 70s or 80s. Apparently there we...

Re: Fox Ranger Repeating Shotgun

those first two pictures are of my "Fox cannon," sitting on my desk as I type. Feel free to PM me if you want to chat about it... I've yet to see another stamped Fox and your's is the first "other" I have seen either though I can't claim to have been searching as diligently as yo...

Re: Fore End Replacement Needed

boy, finding the metal for a small bore forearm is going to be the hard part for sure... if you know pretty darn close to where you lost it, I would go back with hedge clippers and a metal detector... it would likely be less costly, take less time, and add more value than any other option. Hope it i...

Re: Re-stocking gunsmith referral

Buck Hamlin will almost certainly not restock your SW... he is a GREAT gun smith and has worked on more than a few of my Fox guns when I lived not far from him but he has little to no interest in restock projects at this point and seems to only occasionally take them on what he personally deems a ve...

Re: Fox doubling

twice barrel nailed it... I had the same problem on one of my first Fox guns and it was an overtightend (hole worn out) tang screw... to make matters worse... on the second time it doubled, it actually broke the locking rotor... cost enough to fix to learn to check my Fox guns more closely before sh...

Re: PAC Fox Data Base

someone did a nice job restocking your gun with a good duplicate of the original! Here is one of mine that I had refinished but believe to be original wood... http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg272/lohmaraj/PAC%2014xx/101800x537.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg272/lohmaraj/PAC%2014xx/1028...

Re: "A.H. Fox: The Finest Gun In The World" book

it was worth the money but it seems the prices have gone stupid since Mike's passing... in my opinion, if you can get the book for less than $60, its worth it... otherwise, just become a member here and read the old posts in the members section and you will gain as much or more... just my $0.02.

Re: Questions on DE 200108 20 gauge

There was also a Tom Kidd article later when 200000 came to light. See The Double Gun Journal , Volume Six, Issue 1, page 39. Serial number 200108 has a checkering pattern with fleur de lis as shown on the D-/DE-Grade in the grey 1913 "Fox Gets the Game" catalogue. Here is a picture of th...

Re: Philadelphia Arms gun

A friend of mine owns gun serial number 51... I have seen and handled it in person though its nothing more than a project that he bought in a huge lot of projects and parts from a gunsmith estate. He has the barrel, receiver and internal parts of the receiver but was missing the forearm, trigger gua...
