Not all the guns on the Cabelas web site are owned by Cabelas. A lot of the out of line ones are just consignment. They have a pretty good idea what people will pay and usually buy and sell at more realistic prices.

That's one ugly stock. Especially with the piece glued on the comb line.
Maybe it's a super rare option.

The center distance of the firing pins would determine the distance at the muzzle if the convergence distance is to remain the same. I'm very new at the Fox game and only have a few 16SW here to measure. I was under the assumption that the 20 used the exact same frame. This super Fox sounds quite di...

I curious if the Fox pics above are of unaltered barrels. It would make sense to me that the 20 Ga would have a gap between since the frame is the same used on 16ga with the barrels tight together at the muzzle. The barrels are supposed to converge at 30????yards. It might be a similar situation wit...

If somebody is messing with original serial #s they could be spending some time getting poked in the pokey. Not cool AT ALL.

Where were these auctioned at?

iron range

Some people have accused me of building parts the hard way. In jest I've told others I start making parts with a shovel in Northern Minnesota.

I keep popping in to read any new posts. I finally got a few Sterlingworth 16ga guns as guinea pigs. Both Philly 28" guns. One I purchased from a member of the forums here. It's an action only with a partially dissassembled barrels. Also missing forend iron & extractors. The price was right...

Thanks for the info guys. I also had a Utica 16ga 28" here and it weighed 6.6 as well. The strange part is the balance points of the Utica and Philli guns were similar with different barrel weights. About 3/4" in front of the hinge pin.

Sterlingworth barrel weight?

I purchased a 16 GA Philly Sterlingworth for a custom project. It has 28" barrels and 361XXX serial #. I was wondering what barrels were available. Having heard talk of 3, 4 weight barrels, there's no numbers on the bottom of the barrels. Is there any way to tell what weight # these are? Thanks

Most interesting-with the Mauser style BA- does that also include the Win M70 mfg 1936-1963 (with the best being from 1936-1948)?? I'd rather not start a peeing contest about bolt guns on the Fox forum. If you want to compare custom boltguns on a forum try the gunsmithing section on AR. Lots of cus...

no comparison IMHO

I'd have to agree with Glenn here. I've worked for 3 different high grade custom/production rifle manufacturers and now work for myself. It's a completely different mindset when you have the opportunity to do the custom work under you own name. Working for a larger gun company is just a job. No matt...
