Re: Cabela’s Dundee,Michigan

Cabela's Hamburg PA still has a Gun Library, and a used gun rack, but PA is a a gun state. I have noticed a slow erosion since Bass Pro bought Cabela's. Selection of vintage doubles, and Foxes have become a rare sight. At least when I have stopped in. Even new guns they had stocked in the past now y...

SBT J Barrel Lengths

Hi Fox Guys, Roaming a local gun show a few weeks ago I found a SBT J Grade the tag said "32 inch Barrels, Ejector, condition 95%." Best of all was told in sat in a closest for 60 years and was at an affordable price. I looked it over and noticed the wood was cut and had a wrong modern rec...

Re: "On the face"

Hi Silvers,

Interesting post and you thank for the knowledge. What is the best way to fix this "Off Face," problem. Is it by adding material to the barrel lug and re-machining? Who would you recommend?

Thanks and Best Regards,

Re: Two Quarters Trick?

Hey Cableguy it was at a crowded gun show and the quarter came down a few tables away. Despite what the Media tells everyone about gun owners the crowd was more than happy to help find my quarter and return it, good honest people. Thanks for the advise I'll add the trick to my inspection process. Wh...

Two Quarters Trick?

I have a few Foxes and never had this type of problem. I bought a 12 ga off the bargain rack but that's another story in itself. I'm a sucker for a good deal, and suffer from A.H. Fox addiction. Quick inspection it seemed like a well used Fox and I couldn't pass it up. I took it to Sporting Clays an...

Re: Sterlingworth and B Grade Barrels

The odds of interchangeable barrels on Foxes are fairly low. This is all long before NC-Machining, most parts are filed to fit. I wish you all the luck in the world, but be prepared to bring your check book.

Re: Went to the Hardware Store and found …

Tool I have to agree and both points. The information on the factory card sealed the deal, just to know the metal and barrels are correct and not cut. I did think Cylinder (measured IM) and Full were a little odd. But could be the best of both worlds because I’m a quick shot on pheasants, so if the ...

Re: New (to me) Sterlingworth 12ga

Really nice grain in that piece of American Walnut, that couldn't be seen in the first pictures. Compared to the economy guns being produced today considering fit, balance, and feel you're way a head of the game. Enjoy a nice piece of American history at the same time.

Re: Went to the Hardware Store and found …

Agreed a Silvers Pad would be the right choice and look really sharp on a 1910 CE. As for Fox treasure hunting yes it takes time and I have been to this store many times. Even in the secrete back room, but didn’t expect to find this. It’s an exciting hobby that takes patients. As for out of town I s...

Went to the Hardware Store and found …

On my way to pick up one of my sons that works at Boy Scout Camp as a Life Guard and Camp Councilor which I do every weekend. Silvers always asks why I don’t attend A.H. Fox events, well one of these days I will. I stopped in a local Hardware Store that sells guns. To my surprise I found a CE in the...

Re: 16 ga Philly CE

Very, very nice. You make me realize I'm an accumulator of Foxes, and not a collector of finer Foxes, but I guess that's how it all starts with shooters. As for it being polished? "I've taken a shine to that gun!" Congratulations
