Re: Remington repeater
Will thanks for your help and beautiful gun.
It does measure 30" to there.
Quite a relief I didn't know how to measure properly.
I was looking today for a 3 stamp and couldn't find one.

Re: Ok to ask about older shotgun shells ?
The ship out pile keeps growing.
Have some other "stuff" that may as well go also.
I've been a good caretaker long enough and someone
Could definitely display it better than my closet.
The excelsior, redhead, and ranger I'll probably miss the most.

Re: Remington repeater
David you are such a wealth of knowledge....just incredible.
Looking at what you posted I'm thinking it's a #3 trap ?
I'm mainly going by the checkering style though.
The serial is U 66,xxx so a relatively early gun ?
I did also notice all even length barrels in the flyers/catalogs.

Remington repeater
By my limited knowledge I think that's what they were simply called.
This is a trap one with a 29" barrel and with nice wood it called to me.

Re: Ok to ask about older shotgun shells ?
Hi Will
I've picked out some that I thought may be worth trying.
I did use wards once with a bunch of accumulated 22's mainly and was happy with the results.

Re: Ok to ask about older shotgun shells ?
Just as a follow up
I have this German 16 gauge Ulrich and an old Cresent peerless 20 gauge.
Took a very ratty looking box of 16 Rangers, the shells looked great though, and the worst sur shot 20 gauge box.
Everything worked great.

Only other 2 things literature wise I thought you could possibly use were these
This is one I'm curious about having Selby on it.

Re: Ok to ask about older shotgun shells ?
I could see doing that with some David but didn't figure most would even cover postage.
Along with the ammo she gave me a box filled with paperwork.
I thought of you with this one.
If you want it let me know.....free

Re: Ok to ask about older shotgun shells ?
A few I thought I should just keep are the Climax one. The magnum one, one with Selby on top and maybe a few of the nicest picture boxes. Interesting information Frank Especially about the solid wad aspect. Most would just be range and clays. I take my hunting seriously The 12 gauge 20240705_175344....

Re: The XE came home with me today
My son got to experience it today.
I even was able to shoot clean with it today.
He was definitely impressed
I hadn't even shown him the gun beforehand.
Another good day out with it.
He smiled the whole time.
