Disassembly Help !
Any suggestion getting the bottom screw of the receiver loose on a sterlingworth 16 gauge. I cannot get this thing to move at all and am afraid I will ruin the screw trying to loosen it.

I say the barrels are cut. Muzzle looks pretty crude to me. Check out choking and also the balance of the gun. Pull at the top rib and see of there is movement. No movement on the rib Brian. Recently got a hold of a 1930 16 gauge sterlingworth for what I thought was a reasonable price $300. Wood on the gun looks good with very little dings and checkering is in good shape. Looking at the end of the barrel I noticed it looks like the rib on one side appears to be off the barrel , its bare...

Ok thanks ! That explains why everything about the gun resembles my 1926 sterly 12 gauge. I'll post some pics after the holidays. The gun needs some work but I've been looking for a project gun and the price was right

What year did these guns start being made in Utica Ny ?
