Re: Help IDing/more info

Well, I just thought that it would be a simple first test to rule out a 16.... as I have never owned one that would fit a dime... Perhaps they exist. But if it is a 12 to 16 conversion barrel, you may be right... Despite the chamber sizing, the bore size and chokes are really unidentifiable..... And...

Re: Help IDing/more info

I may have overthought this....
Will a dime fit down either barrel at the muzzle?
Do you have a caliper or an accurate rule?

Re: Help IDing/more info

Just looking at the pictures.... would it be possible that the gun was returned to the factory for a set of 16 ga barrels and they provided them with the same serial number? Perhaps it was just a replacement barrel? I'm a Fox smallbore guy and those barrel walls look pretty thick to me. Of course, n...

Re: 1934 retail price list and cat

Thanks Dave. I always appreciate your help, as do others that don't bother to say 'Thanks'. It seemed like I had seen some off color examples, but wasn't sure if I was remembering one of the other maker's off color repros. I think that he made a nice find. March 1934 retail prices. Not the best pics...

1934 retail price list and cat

Greetings, A friend of mine recently came across a Lynn Bogue Hunt catalog containing a 1934 Retail price list. We were curious as to if anyone ever reproduced this catalog? Or if there are any tell tale signs of it being a 'repro'? This catalog is in near mint condition. I could post pictures if it...

Howdy Jonathan,
This link has some pretty good info on terminology and some photos....

It will take a while to read through it.
Those are some great guns you own, thanks for sharing.
Best, Rick.

Re: TAKE NOTE----FOX GUNROOM BANNERS!!!!

Is this offer open to non-members?
I won't be at 'The Southern', but would be interested in buying one or more banners.
Where is the link for the 'AHFCA' 'items for sale' ?
Feel free to 'P.M.' me.
Always looking out for a sharp hat.... better yet, vintage style.

Re: Early A & B smallbores

Thanks guys,
I guess that I have been in the right place and time for the 20's, just not for the 16's.
Best thing about looking for the unusual is not having to open the wallet as often.
My condolences Dave. You can always find another...right?
Thanks again.

Early A & B smallbores

Greetings. I'll ask the question first, then add my comments for the inquiry. I'm just curious if anyone owns or has seen a 16 bore engraved in the early A or B grade style? Perhaps I'm just forgetting a gun or two as my full files are still locked up in a faulty computer, but I don't recall seeing ...

Crosnoe had a CSM C/CE grade 20 that slowly dropped in price over 12-18 months. I believe it bottomed out around $8K or less before it sold. It was an early gun. He has a 2 barrel 16/20 XE for $15.5K right now. I don't think that people are willing to sell for a loss when buyers have the option to '...

I've never seen a factory built set. I got to 'playing' around with some of my Fox's one day and one of the 16's barrels will snap right onto another 20 that I have. It's snug enough that I would not be bothered to shoot it that way. The barrels would just need a few thousandths removed on the outsi...

Well, my reply is probably a bit off-topic. I did stumble across a very close relative to one of my guns by helping someone out with a question. Not a Fox, but a 28" Krupp barreled 1 1/2 grade 16 bore. It is XXX579 and I own XXX576. Seemed like 'fate' at the time, so I bought it. They are nearl...

Mike, Yes, I consider myself blessed. Not much more than clean-up at this point. Spent a few hours dragging and sawing today. Others were not as lucky. Thanks. Skip, Nope, not rubbing it in, although I love the winter season, this years hunting season has been cut short. I did get to spend some time...
