I had the luck of corresponding Armstrong Roberts grand son (if I remember right) Robert some years back. Very interesting story he did a lot of commercial photography which was used back in the day for advertisements calendars and magazine covers Etc. Robert had a interest in Barnegat sneakboxes as...

Basiclly the change of where the manufacturing occurred had not changed the look of the gun yet.. Later on Savage guns the top lever and forearm and some other subtle nuances would be obviously different from the philly era guns. Savage was using up Philly stock parts to build their guns tho branded...

My wife an I rode up to Chincoteague NWR couple weeks ago and while sadly there were not a lot of ducks around there were a fair amount of sprig...was a treat to watch them light into the impoundment there with that twist n turn they do.
