Fox Collectors

I am in Colorado Springs headiing back to Washington via Denver, Wyoming and then I-90 west through Montana. Do any of you recommend double gun stores along this route especially in the Denver area?

I stopped in the Denver Bass Pro Shop back in early August, was surprised at the number of doubles they had in their gun library. 2" British doubles, some American classics, wound up buying a copy of the newer Lefever book. Never looked for any other gunshops, didn't even know that Bass Pro had a gun library but a pleasant surprise!

I too passed the BPS in Denver on my way west on route 70 just last week to go elk hunting. Unfortunately I was rushed to get to my outfitter and rushed on the way back to get to the airport.

There is a great sporting goods store in Rifle, Co., that, along with the Wal-mart,which happens to be next to a huge beer and wine store, has verything we needed so we never stop along the way. There is also two game processors and a taxidermist in Rifle so we never really go anywhere else. It is real handy in that regard.

Next time it looks like I'll have to try to make the time if the BPS is a SXS mecca.

Thanks. I made it to Cody , Wy today and spent 4 hours at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West. Great museums of the Wild West . Teddy Roosevelt 's F grade was on full display. A lot of American SxS especially Parker and Winchesters.
I hope someday the AH Fox will have a larger representation through donations or loans.
The museums were well worth the visit.

Mike, several gun collecting organizations have set up temporary educational displays at various venues. It could be in the future for us. Examples are Remington Society displays at Jekyl Island, Georgia and Cody, L.C. Smith Collectors Association at the National Firearms Museum, and others.

M. W. Reynolds in Englewood is a fine shop and an interesting place. Sounds like I'm too late, however.

I remember, in my younger days, when I could see the Teddy Roosevelt FE Fox just by attending a local gun collectors show. Times have changed.
