bought this gun mostly for the action.... A grade extractor, 16ga 28" #4 krupps. Plan on adding the 30" 20ga barrels from the sterly in the lower picture and the trigger group ..... the 16 will be for hunting the 20ga (with semi beaver ) for clays and and dove (if I ever hunt them again)

couple of questions... has anyone ever seen this type of trigger conversion...... and besides dewey and trunbull (who are on the list to talk to about doing the work) who would you suggest? looking for good work, fair prices, ability to stay on schedule and not have a 2 year backlog.... the stocker has already been chosen

The pivoting single-double trigger has been seen on European guns. It is a novel idea of simple design, but almost impossible to make attractive. I believe the Beretta pivoting trigger is the best known of this type.

Heck; if it works leave it alone. You'll definitely have the only one on the block !

maybe thats not such a bad idea.... have it cleaned up, reblued/cc'd add teh 30" barrels and be done.....

IMO it would be a crying shame to take that walnut, make a nice two barrel set and live with the looks of that trigger and corresponding triggerguard. IMO looks like it was done by a poor pipefitter on a Friday at a local bar while he was emptying a keg. I think your first plan is certainly the way to go.

I have only seen this type of trigger once before on an Ithaca NID 16 ga on a used gun rack, But the trigger guard was not as robust as the one shown. I was told it was an after market trigger. I was tempeted to buy the gun, thought about it for a few days because it wasn't a Fox. When I went back it was gone.

Guns have history and I wouldn't change a thing about the trigger or gun. If I have only seen one in all my sxs hunting they maybe rare. Let's see how many Fox guys post on this.

Thuddd only you could come up with a gun like that. What a Rube Goldberg contraption. Have you been inside to see how that abomination works?

I would swap trigger plates and you could still shoot the sterly with the 30 inch barrels if they do not have to be modified too much to fit A grade frame. Bobby

Forgot you will have to change forend hanger on 30 inch sterly barrels if you use A grade latch plate forend. Bobby

I have a Model 21 prototype that will work with both types of forend, latch plate and snap on. How about a separate forend for each set of barrels?

Thats what I'm going to do..... 2 forearms... splinter with the 16..... and a semi beaver with the 20ga..... lever's a tad further right with the 20ga, both hammers will go click.....I do understand they will need to be fitted......


BTW the Rube conversion made this a very very very affordable acquisition..... significantly less than having the sterly frame engraved.. and I really prefer the late A engraving to any of the other patterns (or even what I could have come up with on my own)
