Pressure Question

:) Hi all, as you may know I'm new to Fox guns (and American classics in general). Anyway, are modern 2 3/4" (standard 3 or 3 1/4 dram) loads safe for a gun made circa 1923/24? The bbls are sound.

Thanks so much!

Greg

The problem is not so much the chamber pressure as much as it is the recoil. Fox guns are heck for stout and many of them have spent their entire existence digesting all manner of heavy loads. If it were me and my gun I would stick with RST 2 1/2 inch 1 ounce loads out of respect for the 87 year old wood.

+1 on the RSTs. You and your gun will enjoy the shells.
