Fox Collectors

Hi all, I was wondering what your thoughts are on the DE grade guns made by Savage (cira 1930's) vs. guns made in Philly? Is one better than the other or just what are the pros and cons of each?

New to Fox guns, so I'm trying to learn.

As a very general rule, there is a steady decline in the quality of wood and workmanship from the first guns made at Wayne & Bristol streets in Philadelphia, to the last guns made in Utica, New York. However, when you get into the higher grades, like a DE-Grade, each gun must be evaluated on its own merits.

I agree with Dave. Also, the number of Utica DE's in all gauges is less than 10.
