On December 14th & 15th Beaver Dam Lake was invaded by members of the AH Fox Shotgun Collectors Association. Members in attendance were Jim Cloninger, Stan Hillis, Alan Afton, Will Afton and Mike Covington.
Ducks were hard to come by, as the pictures show, but a great time was had by all. Many thanks to Mike and Lamar Boyd for the hospitality and hard work. I’m looking forward to a return visit in 2010. Mike

Nicely done, it's amazing to me how many new friends we have all made as a result of the Internet and AHFCA.

It was a long drive for a duck hunt (33 hours each way) but I really enjoyed meeting fellow members and hunting at historical Beaver Dam lake. Aside from meeting and hunting with fellow Fox enthusiasts, my goal was to kill a "Greenhead" with my HE at Beaver Dam in a tribute to Nash. Well, we did not get any shots at Mallards, but I did get a double on Gadwalls with my HE. I guess that will have to do for now. Of course I did not drive 6 days to only hunt 2 days. I hunted 4 more days in Arkansas. I have always dreamed of hunting Mallards in the timber. Well I can tell you it is a fantastic experience and every dedicated duck hunter should experience it. Arkansas is holding a lot of ducks (and geese) and hunting the timber is almost all Mallards. I used my 1908 CE with 32" barrels in Arkansas (thanks Frank) and got a lot of strange looks of all the other hunters using their "afromatics". That old Fox really did the job on the Mallards, to the other hunters disbelief. It all culminated when my last "Greenhead" wore a band! I took a lot of photos, but my camera was made the same year as my HE

, and I don't have any way of posting snapshots. It was a fantastic trip.

The fellow in the Filson jacket may not have an HE under his arm, but by the number of bands on his lanyards, I'll bet he knows a thing or two about how to use those tooters. Nice guns guys, and a super looking blind.

Apparently, as Capt. Money says to Ho'ace, y'all "ovarwelm'd" my my buddy, Mike. No sooner had you fellows packed up Cap'n Boyd done called me and said, "Cain you get me one of demm big ole guns?" I said, " Cap'n , ah' iz sho nuff a jez no 'ccount lawyah buts ah believes ah can!" Well, I made a call and found one for him. I suspicions an HE will be joining the 3 Sterlingworths, the big Smith magnum and Lamar's new Parker VHE down at the Dam. It's nice to make a Big Boy happy
