And more importantly how to recock them lol. I want to check the firing pin protrusion on my new Fox sterlingworth. What is the best way to decock and cock the gun without the barrels on? So much easier on my old hammer guns, lol!

To decock, hold a block of wood against the fences and pull the triggers. To recock, locate the cocking arms in the milled out center section of the action flats, insert a large flat screwdriver under the arms and lever them up until they engage the sears. I hope this helps.

I forgot one thing. The top lever needs to return to the center position first. With a screwdriver, press down on the trip pin located in the slot in the standing breech. This is where the barrel rib extention normaly goes. Once pressed the top lever returns to center.

I think most people know this, but I would add that, when releasing the top lever to allow it to return to center, hold it over with the thumb while pressing down on the trip, and allow it to ease back to center, rather than just pressing down the trip and allowing the top lever to snap back under spring force.
