A friend skilled at gun fitting installed a CSM pad on the 16 gauge shown. Mounts better now with his efforts and added LOP.

Stock shape preserved. The factory plate may be returned to the stock if needed.

Looks reeally good and it's great that the wood didn't have to be altered. Enjoy.

Was the buttplate flat or curved?

Had the 16 in hand for dog training today on liberated birds. While not the same challenge as wild birds, rarely needed the left barrel thanks to a properly fitted Fox.

Good pics, UH. I have done the same to my guns many times to get increased LOP.

Consider adding a thin, leather facing to the pad. Doesn't make it work any better, but just looks so good.

I ground a pad for my Sterly Ejector 20 quail and woodcock gun, then added a piece of really old leather from my grandad's duck hunting coat, that was in too bad shape to keep. Every time I pick up the gun, now, I remember him.

Stan,

What did you adhere the leather to the pad with?

I love the looks of a thin red pad. Nicely done
