S L O W

Post by Jeff S »

Normally I enjoy posting pictures this time of the year, but this has been the slowest duck season of my life. On the 5th day I finally shot one wood duck. We’e had rainy days, windy days, and sunny days, but very few ducks. I think they all moved to the Finger Lakes region of New York.

Figures - I've never seen so many acorns! Went to uncover my barrels of duck decoys and boat; the tarps held so many acorns it looked like somebody broke the glass cabinet of the nut roaster man on the AC boardwalk!! Kevin

Kevin, we have a bumper crop of acorns this year as well! Both red and white oak have produced more than I can recall. The deer are hanging in the woods or our front yards where there is easy pickings. Not only acorns but the hickory and black walnuts are in abundance as well. The squirrels are in heaven!
