Started today. Although stocked, several really nice places nearby.

Went out this AM. Heavy cover, tall corn rows. Moved 4 with 2 flushing. 2 way out in corn rows, shot at 1 (missed), and one connected. Always start the year for the first with a Fox SW (my only Fox).

Went to another spot early afternoon. Abuts the CT river. Flushed flushed one over the river, hit it falling 100’ out. Mollie was in the water before I even fired. Maggie was a bit slow but went out anyway. Downed with a 20g Trojan.

Thanks!!!!!

Complete mutts….well pitbull mixes. No training other than teaching “NO” and “come here” and they know to stop whatever they are doing and come back.

Only issue is anything one retrieves they both want to be the one to bring it to me.

They put up birds. Dont run fields just walk and smell and catch a scent snd find it. Brief point and charge.

They stock Myles Standish WMA in Plymouth and Francis Crane WMA in Falmouth with quail but that’s close to a 3hr drive for me. Also heard it gets quite crowded.

The pheasant areas in northwestern MA are actually quite nice.
