Just by coincidence I shot a 101/12g/32” yesterday at the Rock. She’s a 1971 Pigeon Trap Grade with chokes opened up to Mod and I-Mod. Easier said than done; as you know the barrel bores and chokes are hard chrome plated.

Yes Randy I’d like to get the 101 sign and I’d be happy to buy it. Please bring to the next shoot we’re both at. I hope to make the Southern this year but definitely to the Northeast SxS (Hausmann’s) and to the Northern SxS at Rock Mtn. I’ll let you know if the Southern comes to be.

Frank, made myself a note and will make sure I still have it when I get home. No charge.

Re: Trap Guns 101
I had a 101 trap that had a broken spring in the forend latch I sent the gun out to the west coast to get repaired by someone who was supposed to be a Winchester expert I told him to fix the latch and go through the gun and fix anything else he could find that it needed. months later and a large bill paid. I got the gun back with a broken latch. I bought a 101 over under with Monte Carlo stock 32 f/f barrels and the first time out a little kid fan by the gun rack and knocked it off the rack and dented the bottom barrel I'm not lucky with Winchesters.

If the other Frank doesn't want the 101 sign this Frank would gladly buy it from you. Oops I see he posted he wants it...Randy G Roberts wrote: ↑Mon Dec 01, 2025 10:26 am Way back in the day I was really in to the Win 101 and 23 models. Shot them a bunch and always enjoyed them. Collected them for a number of years. One day a Gent from down South that I had sold several guns to over the years offered me XX amount for all of them. I don't own a single 101 or 23 today. One that I really miss was a 101 Field grade 20 with 30" barrels choked F/F with 3" chambers that was an early red letter gun with the red/black plaid box. Everything about it was perfect including the box and paperwork and it had unusually great wood for a 101 Field. Not sure why I miss it as I never shot it. It was just plain cool.
Frank, I may still have that 101 sign you can partially make out in the pic. If I do have it and you have interest you can have it. Just le t me know and I can check.

Re: Trap Guns 101
Thank you Randy. I’ll let you know as it gets closer if I can make the Southern. Or I’ll ask Mike to get it for me. Otherwise I’ll see you at Hausmann’s or at Mike’s Northern SxS. frank (the other guy).
