Card file for ah fox a grade 12 ser number 1251
Not shore if this is place to ask but I have a ah fox 12 ser number 1251 it’s an old one in good shape had to replace old butt pad was falling apart and add ivory front beed it has a mid need and looks like someone cut the pistol grip down to make English stock found it on bottom shelf of old pawn shop in Tennessee any info would be appreciated mostly want to know about the stock I think a 1905 gun thanks

Nice to hear from you Jabba and congratulations on the rare find. When requesting cards, you should make the request in the members forum. Unfortunately we don’t have that card on file. Serial number 1251 would be a 1906 vintage gun. The early guns are stamped on the watertable --
"PAT'D AUG.1 1905
OTHER PATENTS PENDING"
By serial number 494 the watertable is stamped with three patent dates --
"PAT'D AUG.1 1905
OCT.17.1905 - JAN.16.1906"
So, my supposition would be that somewhere in the upper 400s we cross into 1906.
