Nimrod shoot

Post by Hilltop »

Does anyone have any knowledge of the nimrod vintagers shoot held in Logan mt the end of may? I’ve never been but I’m wondering if it’s worth the trip? Thanks

I went to the early ones when they were run by Robt. Harris and held at Polson, Montana, at the south end of Flathead Lake. A few small displays but no dealer presence. 2005 --

I haven't gotten an announcement for this year's event but perhaps I've been dropped from the mailing list.

Well I’m a little sceptical of Logan…. It has a good steak restaurant but isn’t exactly one of Montana’s nicer small towns. I’ll try to make it down and see what’s up 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Dave, I did not know that you knew Robert Harris. He is a fellow i have long wanted to meet, but know that I may never get to. He and I have talked many, many times over the years since he offered me his beautiful DHE Parker 16/20 gun. He has been an invaluable source of information for me concerning refinishing gun wood, and also used to build exquisite wooden gun cases. I think of him every time I hold the long-barreled Parker.
