Re: Access to members area?

Researcher, Absolutely and thanks...I certainly didn't mean to impune Paul or anyone of the Directors. I have been a volunteer and have helped run volunteer programs most of my life. I would be HAPPY to assist in anyway possible if there are opportunities to do so. I know that 30% of any organizatio...

Access to members area?

I greatly appreciate hearing from the Admins that my application and membership fee have been received and accepted, and I am just curious as to how long it takes to get access to the Members Only area? I've seen where an admin here or there grants access to the members only area, but I would think ...

Re: rust/pitting on barrel exterior

Thanks Vince, Here's a bigger version...I was trying to keep the size under the limit so it would post. :) fox rust.jpg I've been a shotgun guy all my life...at least since about 10 when I went to my first turkey shoot and was hooked. Days later my dad bought me my first pump gun. I've been around w...

Re: Fox-Sterlingworth Brochures

Wow...this is great stuff...would LOVE to get one of those blue brohures for the 42.85 price...my new SW is a 1936, so the princely sum would have been paid for my 12ga SW.

Re: rust/pitting on barrel exterior

Vince, the pitting is about two hands back from the muzzle. I just got the gun home and it is mostly surface rust and I think it will clean up nicely....thanks for the help...the picture was on my phone and I had to reduce the size to get the picture to upload. I'll take better pictures now that the...

Re: AND...The FOX is MINE!!!!

Thanks Mike...

It's been a long road in pursuit of my SW...so many folks gave me advice and help in id'ing and determing whether she was a good gun or not.

I will write Mr. Callahan and ask for his help.

AND...The FOX is MINE!!!!

Good evening folks... Well, she is mine...the owner accepted my counter-offer and she came home with me for $450!!! 8) The barrels are sound...real clean and solid inside with no light peeking through. The rust looks like it is not as bad as I first thought and I think it can be removed. Researcher ...

Re: New to the forum and new to FOX Fever over a Sterlingwor

Gentlemen, thanks once again...tomorrow the SW gets a good once over now that I know exactly what to look for. Is there a "checklist" of sorts that us NOVICE Fox'ers can use to give a prospective family member a good going-over? I know that I will now take ALL the advice given and store in...

Re: New to the forum and new to FOX Fever over a Sterlingwor

Wow...thanks guys...what great information. I have made my offer, but the shop has not heard back from the consignor yet. To answer some of the questions...it has a capped pistol grip and the gun has 30in barrels. The wood is in good condition, and I think a good rub down with tung oil would make it...

rust/pitting on barrel exterior

Hey Gang, I posted some questions on the FORUM page, but thought I would ask here also. I am looking at a Sterlingworth 12 GA with some blood pitting to the barrel...the guy at my LGS and I both agree that it looks like someone picked up the gun by the barrel with blood on his hand and didn't clean ...

Re: New to the forum and new to FOX Fever over a Sterlingwor

Fellow FOX'ers... Went back to my LGS and visited the FOX that I have been chewing over...the SN is 141576, and I think that makes it a mid-1936 production. It's a 12Ga, with ejectors. I think it's choked Full and IC, but will have to go back with my gauge. 20130211_112400_resized_1.jpg Cc-4YDWrDWrp...

Re: New to the forum and new to FOX Fever over a Sterlingwor

I kinda feel the same way...the gun is on consignment and I have indicated to the folks at the shop that I am not game at that price, and they said they would let him know of my interest when they call him about the expiration of his consignment. We'll see...I'm determined to get a Fox that I don't ...
