Re: My Fox upgrade is making some progress!

Thanks Foxnut. I’ll be glad when I finally get the gun in hand it’s been a few years in the making. I’ve decided to have Bertram Edmonston IV do the engraving. It will be loosely based on this gun with dogs being two of my favorites a GWP and a DD. Mr. Gournet was going to be the engraver so in his ...

Re: My Fox upgrade is making some progress!

Good eye, he did add them. Probably not needed, but something he wanted to try. I think he did a nice job on those as well.

This from my Smith today.

Everything is cut. I will point the diamonds and deepen the boarders after the finish is done.

Re: My Fox upgrade is making some progress!

Thanks Foxnut, will do. Checking should have started yesterday or maybe today. Then it will be waiting on the engraving. That probably won’t get started for another 3-4 months.

Re: Kansas a few years ago.

Unfortunately the pheasant numbers seem to be going down every year. Quail numbers on WHIA are down as well. Still can get into a few coveys on some private ground we have access to. A couple of things I’ve heard, that pheasants can’t self regulate their internal temperature when it’s over 104 ambie...

Kansas a few years ago.

Hunting with my dog’s Cody and Otto. With my 12ga AE quail gun, 7 lbs. choked C/M. Was a great day. Hope to get out with them again this year.

Re: The old boy produced again (c:

The area we’re in is very hit and miss for both species, especially on WIHA aka walk in areas. Last year I never shot a pheasant. We have access to some limited private ground tha...

The old boy produced again (c:

Was able to get a true double on the pheasants and also a double on the quail, down in Kansas. Otto is having a blast. Other than the cut on his front leg.

Re: Jim Demunck

I’m usually not one for gold inlays but have been thinking of possibly having a gold woodcock added to the top lever of the gun in honor of Mr. Gournet. As he was pretty well known for his little bog sucker (c;

Re: Jim Demunck

Just beautiful work Bill, each one in its own way! You’re very lucky man.

That model 61 would sure be something for a young boy or girls 1st rabbit/squirrel gun (c; Hope you’ve got family to pass you treasures down to.

Thank you for sharing,

Mark
