Was it easy to determine the source of the Fox shotguns in this auction? Were they CSMC, recent Savage, or A.H. Fox Philadelphia? By the prices, I am still in doubt. However, I'm sure the buyers are happy. I'm sure they were nice guns, but the auction company were not much help.

The auction company was useless. I thought the Straight grip AE 20 was interesting. Savage gun in what seemed to be good condition. I believe all in the price was just above 5k. Top end if you ask me. More 20 foxs on the market now then I can recall in recent times.

I happen to have some info on the gun which I would provide the new owner.

Was this the auction that also had the custom Hugh's Fox? I had it located and then lost the entire auction somehow.

Found it. Wow, they got the Hugh's custom Fox way cheap for that gun. $4,600 it seems. The Auction house didn't even note it was a Hugh's Custom Fox although they listed him by name on a bunch of the other guns sold at that auction.

The descriptions of these guns was such that they could have been the "New" Savage Arms Fox. The pictures didn't tell us much either.

I got info on the other AE fox 20 gauge as well (lot 38). Based on what they sent me the chokes were Cylinder and IC.

Were the serial numbers from Tony's new $4500 Fox knockoff, a CSMC Fox, or a real A.H. Fox?

Interesting. The gun I was referring to was lot 8 and now it shows that it was passed. BTW, that is the gun that SDH photographed in detail and put in his book titled Double Shotguns. I'll bet they decided it went too cheap.
