Top Lever and Springs Question

Hi Folks,
A few months ago I stumbled upon a 20 gauge Sterlingworth project gun. The gun has more wrong with it than is right, but the price was unbeatable so I snatched it up. I figured it would be a good chance to understand the inner workings of Fox and at the very least could supply some parts in the future. The first issue I am trying to fix is a top lever that does not stay to the right when the barrels are off. While removing the floor plate and sears I noticed that the small spring in the floor plate screw hole was missing. This spring seems to sit under the pin where the rip extension fits into the frame.
Would it be correct to assume this missing spring could be the reason for the top lever issue? All of the other interior springs and parts seem to be in place and in working order. Assuming this spring is the issue, what would the proper name of the replacement spring be?
Many thanks in advance,
W.
