Sterlingworth 16 gauge serial # range 354,... , nice fitting straight stock.Red rubber recoil pad with what seems to be a 1/4" spacer between it and the end of the butt end of the wood. Appears to be replacement stock , but checkering is worn just like the fore end wood. 26 inch barrels. Philadelphia production / fluid compressed steel barrels. #'s match. Weight is 5 lbs 15.0 oz. Won this one at auction last winter in Gettysburg , PA. Hope this helps .

Wanted to add also : The recoil pad mentioned in the post above , looks identical ( side view ) as the recoil pad on the pictured XE grade on the Home Page Grade Directory . All the way at the bottom of the page under the XE Grade heading. The recoil pad on the 16 gauge I have also has a piece of leather on the butt end as stated in the XE notes . Just trying to put the pieces together. This may be old news to many , but new to me .

I have (22) Fox 16's with factory stocks in my spreadsheet; the lightest went 5-14.4 and that with 28" barrels, the heaviest was 6-9.6 for a 30" gun. All weights using a digital postal scale.

I have a 1927 A Grade 16 gauge that weighs in at 5 lbs 12 oz. Grandma bought it in the 1930's to shoot crows in the garden.

My A grade 16 with #4 weight barrels is 5 lbs. 13.02 oz. I just wish it had higher stock dimensions as it just does not fit me well (but is a joy to carry!).
