Great time in Vermont

I took an early road trip to Vermont for Grouse and the Woodcock opener. Weather was great until it wasn't. Very typical to have the weather change on a dime up there.
I was using the 16 gauge Sterlingworth/XE upgrade that I purchased from C.O.B. a while back. It's one of my favorites.
It is still early and the foliage was very thick, but we did get flushes, some we even saw! LOL! We stuck to the edge cover adjacent to snow mobile trails for a good bit, that seemed to be most productive.
I was on a logging road facing a creek bottom when I took this grey phase on an incoming path quartering away from my right with the second barrel after missing with the first.
She did a beautifully choreographed somersault in the air and landed with a thud about 20 yards to my right just on the edge of the two track. Watching the bird in flight was worth the 9 hour drive.
