Sterlingworth butt stock replacement

Post by Joe9189 »

looking for recommendations

Had a big chunk crack off the butt stock on my 1911-1912 Sterlingworth 12 ga. Trying to decide if it’s a better idea to just try to repair or completely replace the butt stock and pad. I really want to keep it in as near mint condition as possible because this was my Grandpops rabbit gun. Lots of value that can’t be measured in dollars and cents.

Thanks in advance for your info and advice.

Well.... I haven't seen the gun, or the chip. However, you can get a beautiful stock made for it for roughly $3,500 and all of your buddies will be envious of it. Or, you can have skilled "stock man" fix the chip for an unknown price. The old stock probably has a little of your Grandfather's DNA soaked into the wood, the new stock will not. Tough decision! :)
Shoot vintage firearms, relax, and have fun.

stockdoctor. Google him. He can repair most any stock and its much much cheaper then having a new one made.
