Fox Collectors

What a special BE 20 guage Fox in the used for sale section of the Galazan site. This is a very special gun, I wonder why the original owner just didn't order a D grade or a F grade gun. I'm sure this must have cost as much or more than a D or F. At $22,000.00+ I wonder how long it will last? Anyone know who owned this gun?

Pretty cool. Must have been ordered by someone who thought like me!! I've always liked the 2nd generation B-Grade receiver engraving better then the XE- or DE-. I think Loggy should buy it so I can fondle it next time I'm in southeastern Idaho.

A CE came into the Vintagers a few years back that was stamped and lettered as a C grade but the original customer specified early A or H style engraving. It was a nice gun but had 3 1/2" of drop. You just never know!! That's what makes collecting so interesting. The BE on the Galazan site along with a number of other Fox graded guns looks like they all came out of the same restoration shop together. Abner for $22k I would say the gun will sit for a long time but this market never ceases to amaze me. The only thing that indicates a market top to me is many major dealers are touting the investment value of double guns.

I think the shotguns are doing better then my IRA!! I could have bought a four gauge set of Galazan Fox D-grades for what its tumbled in the last seven months!!!!

The only other angle that I thought of is, could it have been that the gentleman purchasing the gun got the gun at the BE price (sorta an inside deal) as long as he ordered a BE grade. They added the upgrades and the buddy on the inside charges for a plain BE. May be far out, but so is ordering a BE with DE extras????????

It would be great to see you again. I'm afraid if you want to fondle the BE at my place you will need to bring it with you! As short as the gun is it must have been built for a very special lady. John
