Sometimes original Fox barrels do not touch at the muzzle end, thus pics of standard "keels" may not help. Surest way to check for cut barrels is to measure the length of the chokes. Fox chokes, no matter what the constriction, generally start 3.5-4.5" back from the muzzles. The start of the choke leade can be determined very easily with an regular bore micrometer. If you don't own one, can you take the gun to someone who does? If you're buying the gun from a dealer or internet site, ask the gent to measure same and certify the length before mailing the payment. I don't have any suggestions beyond those here, sorry. The letter you referred to sometimes takes longer than 6 weeks. The last one I ordered was >2 months  Silvers

When measuring the length of the chokes, make sure your bore measurement is within the normal range of original Fox bores. I don't own enough Fox guns to know what that "range" is, but assume it is about .729 to .732 in 12 gauge guns that are not H Grade.

Here is a picture of the keys, the little metal pieces filling the gap between the barrel and ribs. C grade guns should also be crowned (the chamfer filing on the ends)

If things go according to plan, here's another picture of my Fox C grade (no ejectors) 12 gauge S/N 1065x.

Pretty much like fox-admin.

Sorry about the belly button lint in the barrels.

Jolly-Bill,

I have a foolproof recipe, to alleviate that pesky, belly-button lint....

16 grains 700X, 7/8 oz magnum shot, Claybuster wad, Rem 209, AA hull

Works every time!!!!

LOL,

I can't argue with that!

I'm bad - I've had the gun 35 years and haven't shot it yet. Of course, I don't have "16 grains 700X, 7/8 oz magnum shot, Claybuster wad, Rem 209, AA hull ".

Would Remington Shur-Shot's work?

And JR, wouldn't that hot wax stuff hurt?
