Using Tungsten Super Shot 1 1/4 ounces in number 9s at over fifty yards with the right barrel modified choke (.020). TSS made a believer out of me. Here is the link below to the video. Don't count the steps going to the turkey because I had to cut out a bad word after going forty yards and no turkey. Count them going back, and I was taking long steps to get an idea of the distance. He was well over fifty and the number 9s made him dead in place. Also a link to the Parker site for the experiment with TSS in vintage guns.

Was always afraid of what that stuff could do to a vintage barrel shotgun, but I guess if it is surrounded with a long and strong enough shot cup it doesn't matter. Always wondered about the Winchester Longbeard ammo as well, but only in the RoosterXR loading which is only 1 1/4 oz.

Small volume of shot is inside a deep wad lined by a mylar wrapper, and shot is small size so absolutely no chance to bridge together. I've shot it in two Parkers and two Foxes and I cannot see any scoring after I brush the bore and then oil it.

Hal, the gentleman who sells Tungsten Super Shot for reloading requests that we don't share the loads he has developed. He will provide those to you when you buy the shot from him. His info can be found on the TSS website. He goes by Hawglips.

He sells it by the pound, and discounts for multiple pounds. I only bought one pound of nines and built a trap to recover the test shots. I fired five at turkeys, missing the first three (one flying away and a wasted double shot into an object other than a turkey) and then killing two with one shot each. Have five shells left since I only put 1 1/4 ounces in the 12s and one ounce in the 20s. If you watch the video, the 1 1/4 ounce 12 killed a turkey at over fifty yards with a modified choke of .020. To do it over again I would have purchased a pound of 9s and one of 7s and made duplex loads.
