Will the stock off a 12ga.sterlingworth fit a 16 or 20 with a little whittleing ?
Is the 16 and 20 the same size receiver and in letting on the stock head is slightly smaller?

i'd have to measure
but it seems to me the tang's inletting on the 12 will be bigger than the 16/20 tang size
and when you thin the cheek panels down from 12 to 20- i wonder how thin the wood will be

No. The smallbore frames are much smaller than the 12-gauge frame. Also, over time the shape of the head of the stocks changed as Fox changed the way the top-tang joined the frame, from a wide radius on the early guns --

- wide radius
to a smaller radius --

- small radius
to nearly square on later guns --

- nearly square
