Picked up a real nice early pin 12 Guage Sterlingworth, serial # 540xx, today for a very resonable price. Still has some of original case, stock has been refinished and checkering recut, very nicely done. Would have rather had original finish but price was right.
Only problem I was able to find is forend does not lock on real tight, suspect j-spring needs to be tweaked.
I was wondering if anyne had a picture of a good spring so I could get an idea of which way to bend or a source for a replacement spring.
Thanks

Ended up fiquring it out, looks like the long part of the J was bent, just required straightening it out and forend fits great.
I had been looking for a decent Sterlingworth for quite awhile that I could afford, if they are in any shape at all the sellers seem to be asking pretty high prices. Seems they were more willing to deal Saturday, I guess because of the economy.
Had it out to the trap range today and it functions great, shot a couple 23's.
Here are a couple of my lousy pics.

Good for you! that's a nice looking gun. I love the belly line...it just flows from the forend tip with a sleek transition through the action and into the open, graceful sweep to a cap. My favorite grip for a SxS. Fox had it right from the very beginning. Gongrats and enjoy.
