I just read American Rifleman's review of this new "Fox A Grade" and wonder what the AHFCA's take is on this new gun?
Is it really a Fox?

Not IMO.

It is a CSMC RBL repackaged to resemble a A H Fox.

Tony should have done what he did with the A-10 , the RBL and the Inverness, have an introductory price for a limited period of time. Maybe then I would own one.

I have mixed feelings about the "New A Grade" Fox from CSMC. I already own two RBL's, a 16 gauge and their "Professional" grade 20 gauge slug gun.

They are what they are and the 16 is a little on the heavy side for my taste. Call them a poor man's David McCay Brown with the round action.

So the question is would I like mine any better if it sort of looked like a Fox? The honest answer is that I'm kind of ambivalent. It would never be a real Fox.The only one I'd be mildly interested in would be the 20 at an honest light weight or maybe a two barrel set in 16 and 20 like the Parker repro's with the Kreighoff 16 gauge barrels. Another thing would be if they could be had with a longer length of pull, say up to 15 inches at no extra charge.

I'm sure we all could collectively come up with any number of things to "make" it better, but we all know we would not stop until it was no longer an RBL but a bare bones CSMC Fox, just they way it is supposed to be.

Thanks guys.
You've pretty well summed up my feelings.

How about 32" barrels?

From what I have been told, Savage would not spec the barrels to be that long? Seems crazy to me based on the amount of cash that small bore sub gauge doubles with long barrels are bringing.

Given that it is marked and marketed by Savage can’t really blame CSMC if the case is junk. I am guessing Savage was putting the package together to meet a specific price point. Easy to cut corners/coat on the case.

That was my thought, too. Savage sold the package, not CSMC.

No one is calling it an A.H. Fox. Nice gun. Let’s see you durable they are.

They look like nice guns, but a not an A.H. Fox.

So, people should just take it as such......
