Well let me start it up, who likes Parkers? Bobby

OK Bobby, I'll start. I started my double gun addiction with Parkers, still am somewhat addicted but have seen the error in my ways of overlooking Foxes. I have focused mostly on 20 gauge guns and I'll be the first to admit that the smallbore Fox has it over the typical O frame 20 Parker. (Please don't tell Dean R. or Dave S. :) ) To prove my point- My 30" 20ga. SW has the same frame size as my 30" 28ga. Parker with a OO frame and weighs within 2 oz. I love 'em both but I've been shooting the Foxes more and more. Daryl

Used to collect British and European doubles before focusing on early American. I prefer Foxes over Parkers for many reasons. And prefer Lefevers over LCs.

Great idea to stimulate discussion, Frank. Thanks to all responsible.

With the exception of Foxes, which are numero uno, I buy the gun, and not the name. This is an example. I found this gun quite by accident, not looking for one at all at the time. L C Smith Collectors Ass'n guys had a couple tables at a Fall Southern one year. I was just browsing and one of the guys asked me what I was looking for, to which I replied "Nothing, really". He asked what I liked. I said "Long legged smallbores". He pointed out a couple of 32" barreled 16s and told me to take a closer look. This one was stocked unusually long, and with the perfect drop. I walked away, but came back twice to look more. We struck a deal that day, and it has been a favorite ever since. It has an unusual combination of features for a Field Grade gun. Hunter One Trigger, ejectors, 32" barrels choked XF and XF, and the 15" LOP stock. Original consignee was in WV. I've often wondered what he planned to shoot with it. Very high condition.

When hit with 1 1/8 oz. of no. 4s the crows never notice they weren't shot with a 12 gauge.

Thanks, fellas. Her name is Susie. We slept together the first night. I fell asleep with her across my breast in the cottage at Backwoods Quail Club...................We "bonded".

She is visiting Jim Kelly for a few days to have some tiny, tiny cracks that just started, behind the lockplates, stabilized and the inletting relieved about .010". I like shooting her, and want to be able to for a loooong time. I'll be glad when she's back home. I miss her so much.

As Bill Withers says: "Ain't no sunshine when she's gone"
