A couple of pics from a trip “Up North” last week w/my 13 year old Brit Gertie. Definitely showing her age and being partially dad now. She doesn’t move out of range like she used to and not as big of motor but still a great nose and wonderful retrieving on dead birds. Always amazed how she finds a wounded or dead bird in thick arce cover! Diagnosed today w/Cushing disease so guessing her wild bird pursuits are over but will continue to let her chase preserve birds!

I am really glad she is still getting it done for you. What are the afects of the disease she has? Jim

A sad day. Had to put Gertie down today. As I shared w/some back in Oct she was diagnosed w/Cushings Disease (adrenal/liver disorder). She was doing pretty good but started having some problems last three days (Seizures/vomiting/shaking). Scans showed body was full of cancer, liver, spleen and stomach were all affected. Brought her home and took her for one last run/walk through some prairie grass and woods near our place. She was happy as could be and enjoyed it thoroughly!! A good ride home and some time in front of the fireplace. Made the trip back to the vet this afternoon and as they say she is now running the big coverts in the sky!

Your sad story is making me cry. I lost my female Black Lab, Mandy, to cancer in 2015 found during her annual checkup. Never got to take her for a last walk or even say goodby. She was knocked out on the vet's table and the vet advised to not wake her up just to put her down again. To this day I cannot talk about her without crying.

Jim, these four legged critters seem to work thier way into our hearts and for sure stay there forever!!

My 12 year old Brittany Bo is still doing great but like me our age is showing! Bobby
