Hausmann's new Fox treasurers surface!!!

Well if you missed Hausmann's you missed some of coolest Fox items to surface in a while. As most know the single barrel trap contest is called the Letterman Cup. So what walks in is the original birds eye maple stock with a cheek piece. gold plate on the grip cap engraved with Letterman's name and the year he won the PA State championship and the maple forend. The serial number and a card look up indicated it was 100% correct---the stock!!!. Now we need to find the rest of the gun!! I am sure others have a picture.
Second was a Fox gun with no serial number, no proof stamp and no patent date stamps. The gun appeared to be about 1907-1911 based on the stock comb and engraving. Let us know what you think----beautiful gun and 100% Fox in my opinion. Pictures below
Third I was walking into a dealers booth and I spot a C grade 12ga. As I look closer I see something different about the engraving----ducks instead of game birds!!!----could it be one of the two CE-H' Super Foxes ordered with duck engraving!!!! I open the gun and sure enough it is 33046. I about fell over. Unfortunately, it had been re-stocked and the dealer would not give me a price. Maybe it will hit the market one of these days.
VAturkey showed us a very nice Super but I will leave it to him to tell the tale.
Otherwise lots of great stuff to handle and buy. Lots of good friends to chat with and great targets.
I am sure Mike S will give a report on the competitions.
Put it on your bucket list!

Here you go Fox Fans. What a cool find!! William C. Letterman's stock and fore arm off of his J-Grade SBT. Notice the date under his name of 1923, the same year he won the PA State Trap Shooting Championship!! Might that have been a gesture of appreciation from the Philly factory for endorsing the Fox SBT?? Guess we'll never know.........

It might sound like a broken record, but make the effort to attend one of our events. You won't be sorry!!

that stock was fun to see- maybe the serial number or card should be posted - just in case the gun- wearing new wood with no history - is sitting in someone's safe

Also, for those that didn't see it, the mystery Fox had a running rabbit on the other side.

Any theories on the mystery Fox? Maybe an apprentice engraver trying to rise from the Sterlingworth shop into the big leagues?

I looked at that gun for 20 minutes and it was a head scratcher for sure. No serial number, no grade, no markings anywhere. Even the ejectors when looked at had no serial numbers. Looked like XE checkering to a degree. Barrels certainly appeared to B grade barrels and were Krupp (marked on bottom of the tubes). Thought it might be a Becker gun that somehow wasn't marked, but it didn't look like a Becker engraved gun. That said, the bead around the breechballs was flat out amazing to look at. The fact the barrels were circa 27.5" long and still had .041 choke and 4.5" long chokes sort of indicated they hadn't been cut. Bottom line was it was a flat out striking gun. Perhaps a lunch box Becker if there is such a thing.

On my way home from Hausmann's, I stopped at the Cabrela's in Dundee, MI. In the showcase I noticed a Fox Grade J trap gun with a very unfortunate stock. Maybe someone some one could get this gun acquainted with the letterman stock.

Is that the one made up of 3 pieces of wood? Unfortunate to say the least.
