Brian,
Thanks so much for that info! I got an e-mail in to John this morning about potentially re-matting a rib on a chicopee barrel set that has a slight “hump” just ahead of the breech that affects the sight plane. I am toying around with the idea of striking off the hump and all the original matting and then having them re-matted. I was hoping to use this re-barreled philly sterlingworth to build an X grade 20 with 28” pipes. Have to wait and see what the cost to do the matting would be first, but I really appreciate you sharing the info.

John has some of the roll dies, but not all of them.

The Savage Era marks on the barrels in this thread were one that he did NOT have. They had to be hand engraved.

If I remember correctly, he has the Chromox Philly dies and the Philly Sterlingworth Dies. He does NOT have the Krupp dies or any Savage dies.
But you would want to confirm this with him if need be.
