Hello fellow FOX Collectors,

I recently tried to contact the Savage Arms Historical Information Division concerning g my DE Grade 12 Ga. recent purchase. Six weeks ago I contacted them and was informed that John Callahan had just retired by the A.H.FOX Collector Assoc.. They said that they would be supplying information for old fox shotguns in 10 days to two weeks? I called again this morning to their phone number listed for the historical look up section and heard a recorded message that I was to send a letter to John Callahan in Southampton, MA. Does anyone have some guidance for me on this? Savage is closed for vacation till Jan. 3, 2017. O hope John is enjoying his retirement.

Thanks guys for the info. I will send them a detailed letter next week when they reopen. I already got a factory card from the Fox Collector Assoc. The gun has been restored and restocked in the 1950's by The Pachmayr Company. It is a 12 Ga. see# 25687 with 30 " bbl. Ivory front bead and a Miller single trigger upgrade. I know that it is not an unrestored original. If it were I couldn't afford it. It is making a wonderful filler to my Fox Collection which numbers "9" now. This fine FOX sure many my Christmas. I would like a historical letter from Savage to go along with this beautiful shotgun which was made in 1919 according to its serial number. Happy New Year.
