I recently purchased and just received a rather unusual A.H. Fox Sterlingworth gun from Poulin's Antique Auctions in 12 gauge (left) and 45/70 Government (right). I have had other cape guns but never had or even heard of a Fox.

Do any of you know if they ever produced a gun like this in Philly. The serial number puts it in the 1910 range. The head of the right breech is marked "45/70" above the extractor. The gun is in fairly high condition although a little on the heavy side.

I don't plan to sell the gun and bid on it mainly out of curiosity. Any info would be kindly appreciated.

Best Regards, George Lander

There use to be one kicking around the Great Southern Weapons Fair back in the Courtney Smith days. I was sure in my mind it was someones after-market project. Certainly never appeared in any piece of Fox paper or advertising I've ever seen. A letter from Callahan should answer any questions.
