Figured this is a place to start. Is is possible to convert an extractor frame to an ejector frame? What parts are needed internally to make it happen, or is it a bridge too far. Thanks. PS. Love to think about potential projects early in the morning when the coffee is brewing.

"Bridge too far". Expense of the conversion, more parts to malfunction, loss of originality, chance of screwing up the conversion. Extractor guns have a certain charm. Parker pigeon guns were extractor guns because a "no extension" gun was always an extractor gun. Model 21 extractor guns are becoming a cult item for Winchester guys.

I have only two ejector guns, and I have to say, I'd just as soon they were extractors.

Thanks. I have ejector barrels and ejector forearm in 20 gauge. Only missing the ejector frame. My mind works in mysterious ways.

I looked into this awhile back and decided if it wasn't something I was able to do myself it wasn't going to be worth it. And I'm a man who loves ejectors. My first Fox was an extractor SW, but I haven't bought an extractor double in the last 14-15 years. I won one extractor double, and a couple have been given to me, but I haven't bought any.

I'm glad everybody doesn't love them as much as I do!!

Plugs in ghe knuckle of the frame have to be driven out. Then the ejector retainer plugs have to be fitted. New trips and ejector plungers will have to be installed. That is about all that is needed for parts. Jason Barden can supply you with everything needed.

Driving the plugs out would be the hardest part. And the new parts need to be hardened appropriately.
