I have an Ansley H. Fox, Grade A, serial number 17xxx. It has a cross-grain crack in the stock, near the tang. Wondering what folks think about my repair options. My guess is a screw pin with glue. Would just like to hear people's thoughts on this. Thanks!

there are several stock guys that can likely repair that from the inside, making it invisible
depending of course on the condition of the wood in there
modern epoxies can do wonders without the screw showing as was done in the past

Thanks. Does anyone have any suggestions for gunsmiths in Shenandoah Valley of Virginia?

I would give these folks a call.

One of the members here who has since passed (David M.) had them do a bit of work for him. Said they did a good job. I only went by the shop one time, but it was clean and orderly and the gunsmith seemed well versed in doubles.
