Chamber markings question

I recently acquired an AE grade 20 gauge into my care. The little gun seems to be as it left the factory as per the card. My question is was it a practice of Fox to mark the chamber size on the barrel flats ? This is of the 1915 vintage and has 2-3/4 "CHAMBER" marked on the left Barrel Flat. None of my other fox guns have this marking.

I know it's been mentioned here a couple of times that Savage lengthened the chambers of guns sent in for repairs. Would they have marked the barrels?

When Savage lengthened the chambers and reproofed the barrels they generally did something like this --
but mostly just the same stamp they began using on new guns beginning around mid-1938 --

Does the later added gauge and chamber length stamping on the barrels make the gun less desirable from a collector standpoint? I have a CE with the 12 ga.-2 3/4 chamber stamp like the ones pictured and like knowing Savage chambered the gun for 2 3/4 inch shells......from a shooting standpoint. Just wondering if all else being equal, would a gun with the stamp be less desirable than one without?
