Photos of a nice J grade SBT

These are photos of a J grade SBT that I refinished the wood on about a year ago for a customer. The gun had outstanding original metal finish, but the stock had seen some abuse over time and needed some real attention. It cleaned up and refinished very nicely. All checkering re-cut as well.

Nice looking J, super job. Can you share what finish you used on the wood?

Amber shellac was used on this one.

Brian, do you top coat your amber shellac finish with a varnish or poly to make more water resistant?

Shellac not being water resistent is an old wives tale.
