Late Season Grouse

Wednesday was a warm and cloudy day here in Western PA. I decided to take my knock-about Sterlingworth to the grouse woods. After about an hour with no flushes, I decided to make my way to an access road and leaned the gun against the tree to answer the call of nature when a bird burst out of a patch of green briers. It flew passed my head and down the road. I was able to grab the gun and make a straight-away but very long shot. You can't make this stuff up!

Awesome shot (and reflexes). When we're ducking hunting, answering the call of nature is known as "putting out some duck lure". Works every time.

Putting out the lure - that's a good one. And come to think of it, it works for deer too.
