Fox Collectors

I an Gen X, and have always liked Fox shotguns. For many my age, and younger, this may not always be the case!

That's fine with me! I was born in 1940 and don't have any relatives left to give things to. I like the fact they want to live in the city. That leaves the country for me. As a matter of fact a lot of these people have downsized so much that they are now homeless and living on the street. Jim

that might pizz off some big time collectors that are planning on selling their hoard after they decide to retire at a large profit....but for most of us with 2 or 3 "decent'" fox guns....we couldn't care less....

I disagree. I have a bunch and many of us have a bunch, and we couldn't care less either.

The older I get, the more things there are that I find I couldn't care less about !

Well... I was figuring on having them in my casket with me anyway.

One of my old quail hunting buddies, who was many years my senior (he actually bought cotton from my great-grandmother), passed over in '98, at 83 years of age. He had shot a graded Parker 20 gauge his whole life. Quail hunting was the driving force in Mr. Tom's life. His son had him buried in his bird hunting britches and coat, with his beloved Parker by his side. It was so worn and loose that it had nothing much other than sentimental value, but his son loved his Dad so much that he did the most unselfish thing I could imagine, and left it with him. Made a big impression on me.

I am still researching loopholes that would allow me to take them with me.

Since those Fox guns won't be worth much in the future, I say the guys holding onto the 30" 20g SWs and Graded 20s should start to dump them for a couple hundred bucks while they can still get that $$!!! PM me guys, I'll be happy to help you avoid letting them go to the landfill.

Gunut, I'll be sure to have my widow post my obituary on this website. Fortunately for me, I don't have any exquisite high grade guns, otherwise you might be tempted to accelerate the process. LOL

To paraphrase Charlton Hesston "They can take my Foxes when they pry them from my cold dead hands" at which time I won't much care but don't get me wrong I'm not hurrying the day.

Tutankhamun had the same problem in 1327 BC, but he solved that--he just built a large safe. Guess what, later generations are still fighting over his stuff. I'm not sure if he had any Fox shotguns, but some English shotgun collector named Carter searched the safe in hopes of finding a Fox.

I tend to disagree with that article. We have lots of old clubs in Savannah. I joined young and there were no members below age 40. Now there are lots of young members in these organizations. Get one, get another and pretty soon you have a bunch. Just watch
