Gentlemen,
I'm a new registered member and have sent in my membership application and fee over a week ago. I apologize in advance for posting an administrative question like this but I can't find any resource on this site to check on the status of my application or how I would be notified as to when I'm "official". Forgive me if I'm missing something obvious. Any guidance? I'm anxious to gain access to the private forum as I'm in the market for a Sterly 16 to go with my newly acquired 1929 20 ga that my wife is starting to treat like a clingy ex-girlfriend. Lol

Does your wife prefer a 16 or a 20?

Lol! She is becoming awfully jealous of my new obsession. But I suppose she appreciates it beats many alternatives. I think she'll come around to the sexy new 20 when she actually gets to shoot it this weekend.

It takes about three weeks to get your membership processed and you new member materials in the mail. Craig

Sounds like you're exhibiting the classic symptoms of "KRUPPCHROMOXIS??" Night sweats, shaky hands, irritability, attention deficit (to anything but Mac's book and the auction sites) and tossing aside that SI swimsuit issue in favor of the DGJ centerfold.
My condolences. It' will only get worse. BTW-----checked with our gal and your membership "fix" went out yesterday. Hope you can hold out a few more days!! Been there, done that.....bought the Sterly!

Thanks for the update. Day 62 - It's only getting worse.
The more I learn about the sweet little gun I accidentally picked up for $200 from a longtime coworker who was selling her late uncle's stash of guns, the more I keep opening the safe and handling the best feeling gun I've ever shouldered. It's a 20 ga Sterly made in Philly in 1929 according to the serial number. All the iron is immaculate, mirror bores, still has some decent case colors even. I love seeing the looks on my buddies faces when I ask them to break it over and lock it back up - unreal how tight after 86 years. Stock was cracked stock at the wrist, fairly worn checkering and some initials carved into it. Not a gun expert but being a DIY junkie I was able to remove, repair, and refinish the stock thanks to research on this forum. The more I researched the more I realized what an American firearms jewel I had on my hands so naturally the more careful and meticulous my restoration project became. I'm proud to say it turned out perfect if I do say so myself. Can't wait to see how this works on the dove and quail next fall here in OK. But for now I need my next fix. Now I want a 16 ga Sterly fixer upper. Strangely there's not many deals out there for these beauties like the one I lucked into on this one. Imagine that.
P.S. Yes I'm having a little trouble sleeping at night but I promise to always buy when I meet my coworker for happy hour.
